Following the death of their parents, Ava, Jade, and Jordan must leave research town Aversano immediately. Jade learns to trust older sister Ava, who spent the last decade in captivity and only came back to them months ago. Jade protects Jordan at every turn as they travel the many towns ravaged by a strange illness.
